Wang Photo Composer Shali Wang was born in Nanjing, China, in 1987. He graduated from the Shanghai Conservatory of Music with a Master's degree in 2013. Now he is a teacher at the Nanjing University Of the Arts, where he gives instruction in composing and electronic music. As a young composer, his works have been widely performed and have won many prizes. Desolate City (for orchestra) was premiered by the Shanghai Opera House Symphony Orchestra (2010); Sunflower in the Wind (electronic music) won first prize in the composition competition held by the Beijing International Electronic Music Festival (2010); Frost's Descent won second prize in the composition competition held by the Princeton International Music Festival (2012); Corona (for orchestra) was commissioned for The Fourth China Orchestra Festival, and was premiered by the China National Symphony Orchestra in the Grand National Theatre (2014.4); Swan Goose (Symphonic Fantasy) was premiered by the China National Symphony Orchestra in the Grand National Theatre (2014.6). Recently, he has been elected to the Chinese Music Talents Support Program (2015).
